We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have under California and federal law.

This policy applies to visitors of lavi.cpa and any LaviCPA-branded website, prospective and current clients, and anyone who submits information through our forms, chat, or consultation requests. By using our site or engaging our services, you consent to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

We collect information you voluntarily submit when you:

Request a consultation — name, email, phone number, and a brief description of your situation or question.
Submit an entity-formation intake — full legal name, email, phone, proposed entity name, state of formation, business purpose, selected services, and electronic signature.
Complete a Statement of Information form — business name, entity number, addresses, agent for service of process, officer/director details, and your electronic signature.
Use our tax tools (S-Corp calculator, tax strategy planner, tax advisor) — the inputs you enter to receive an estimate or analysis.
View a proposal — the access token and PIN you enter to retrieve a fee proposal prepared for you.
Communicate with us — the content of emails, chat messages, and call-back requests you send.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our site, we and our service providers may automatically collect:

Device and browser information — IP address, browser type, operating system, and screen resolution.
Usage data — pages visited, time on page, referring URLs, and approximate location derived from IP.

Service providers — trusted vendors that host our website, store data, deliver email, manage scheduling, and power our tools, under written agreements limiting their use of the data.

Professional advisors — attorneys, enrolled agents, or specialists engaged to assist with your matter, subject to confidentiality.
Business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to confidentiality obligations.

Except as described above, we do not disclose your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

We retain client records for the period required by IRS and California Franchise Tax Board rules — generally a minimum of four years after the filing date, and longer for certain documents. Prospective-client inquiries are retained for a reasonable period to respond to your request and then deleted or anonymized unless you become a client.

5. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted transmission (TLS), access controls limited to authorized personnel, and vendor platforms with documented security practices. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, but we work to protect your information consistent with applicable professional standards for a CPA firm.

6. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the following rights:

Right to know — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
Right to delete — request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal recordkeeping exceptions.
Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
Right to opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share your information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so no opt-out is required; you may still submit a request.
Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — request that we limit use of sensitive data to the purposes permitted by law.
Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days, as required by law. We may verify your identity using information you have already provided to us.

Authorized agents

You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf by providing us written authorization and, where applicable, proof of the agent's identity.

7. Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without parental authorization. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers transmit a “Do Not Track” signal. We do not currently alter our practices in response to a Do Not Track signal, but we limit tracking to the purposes described in this policy and our Cookie Policy.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.
